Take time to visit Government House Gardens in beautiful Rockland or follow in the footsteps of Prince and Princess Abkhazi in their beautifully restored gardens in Fairfield.

The 178 acre site of Beacon Hill Park is a showpiece of Victoria's long gardening tradition and with its five man made lakes, should not be missed.

The largest, intact Edwardian gardens in Canada are found at Hatley Castle, a historic, 565 acre estate that is now Royal Roads University.

The Horticultural Centre of the Pacific is a beautiful Victoria display garden that fosters organic gardening techniques and courses and also a Master Gardener program. A newly opened Tea Room is a wonderful place to relax after touring the gardens.

The World famous Butchart Gardens of Victoria is not to be missed!  It is also a wonderful spot for High Tea and fine dining at The Dining Room onsite. Seasonal displays are constantly changing. Spring Prelude starting in January introduces an early indoor display of bulbs, flowering shrubs and trees, and a variety of natural wonders. An historical display at the same time includes tours of the original residence, where you can trace the history from Portland Cement factory to the present-day.

During Spring Spectacular from early April to the end of May, thousands of flowering bulbs show off for visitors from around the world and the many garden areas are bursting with blooms. Summer is sensationally colourful. Check out the Sunken Garden, a Japanese Garden, the Rose Garden, the Italian Garden and always something new. Evening displays of strategically placed lighting make for a magical night-time tour. From mid June through the beginning of September enjoy free entertainment and spectacular fireworks displays on Saturdays. Our wonderful climate ensures bountiful blooms in every colour all summer long.

The Autumn palette is awesome. Changing leaves and late bloomers come into their glory during this long Victorian season. Christmas brings colourful lighting, unique decorations and seasonal entertainment to the gardens.  The Twelve Days of Christmas displays are cleverly interspersed throughout the 50-plus acres from early December through early January.
